Telehealth Music Therapy Sessions

Music therapy uses music as the therapeutic stimulus to achieve non-musical treatment goals. The purpose of music therapy is to provide the individual with an initial assist using melodic and rhythmic strategies, followed by fading of musical cues to aid in generalization and transfer to other environments.

With our virtual method of delivery for this program, families can take part in our Lending Library of Instruments and Materials needed for the session that they may not otherwise have at home for no additional cost. Sanitized instruments will be delivered to your home and must be returned to Beyond Words once the COVID-19 Stay at Home order is lifted for Ohio residents. Third party funding is available for this program through ODE Autism Scholarship, ODE Jon Peterson Scholarship and CCBDD Family Resources Program.

Virtual Adapted Music Lessons - ages 5+

Adaptive music lessons focus on musical goals. Beginning adaptive music lessons with a music therapist can often be the first step a student needs to successfully start a lifetime of musical learning. The purpose of adaptive music lessons is to provide additional support to increase musical skills until traditional music lessons can be successful.

Virtual Traditional Lessons - ages 5+

Traditional music lessons, with a concentration on voice, guitar, ukulele or drum set, are appropriate for students that can handle the expectation of a traditional lesson.
