Adapted Dance Instructor
Are you a dance instructor who is passionate about seeing dance spark a positive change in others? Are you a creative, out-of the-box thinker, who finds joy in sharing ideas with others? Are you looking for a place to help you grow?
If so, Beyond Words is looking for you!
Schedule, Hours and Location
We are currently hiring for a part-time position, starting in September 2021. This position will include some daytime, but mostly afternoon and evening hours - based upon the needs of our clients. This position will be a Monday-Friday schedule, with the possibility of Saturday instead of one weekday. The vast majority of our clients request services between 4:00pm-7:00pm at night during the week, so having that availability and desire to work at that time can grow a caseload quickly. Days will vary in length.
This position will start at part-time (20-25hrs per week) and will grow to full-time for the right candidate. The work week is comprised of direct client contact, office hours for planning and documentation, supervision meetings, and traveling in between clients. If you have strengths in program development, we may have additional hours or salary position for you.
This caseload will be predominately at the North Royalton studio, but may include travel to program in the community during the day around the greater Cleveland/Akron areas.
Responsibilities, Populations & Types of Sessions
As a member of our team, you will be expected to provide individual and group adapted dance programming to children and adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, neurological needs, behavioral needs, etc. (As you grow with us, we will work hard to build your caseload with your desired populations). You will participate in treatment team meetings, assist with team functions including marketing events, and complete general administrative tasks such as keeping your time sheet and recording student attendance.
The biggest populations served at Beyond Words include children diagnosed with Autism, Down Syndrome - specifically with communication and/or behavioral needs - however, we also service young children in preschools/day schools and adults with developmental disabilities within a group home or day program setting.
This position will begin hourly, with rates for direct service, office time and travel time. Salary options are available after one-year of employment and based on a variety of factors: including experience in our target populations, advanced trainings, and other skills you may possess. We believe in financial stability for our team. Therefore, we offer office time for excused student absences, full direct service rate for unexcused student absences, as well as paid time for PTO and scheduled holidays.
We are proud to offer our employees a variety of benefits. At Beyond Words, we believe in opportunities for growth and we look to increase benefits for our staff as their caseload grows and they dedicate time to Beyond Words. Our benefits packages typically run from $5k-$15k based upon whether an employee is part-time or full-time and the number of years they have dedicated to Beyond Words.
Our benefits for our part-time staff include:
Professional liability insurance (at hire)
Comprehensive lending library of materials (at hire)
Monthly self-care workshops (at hire)
Mileage Reimbursement (at hire)
Health Insurance Reimbursement (with a minimum work week of 30hrs and after 90 days of employment)
Stipend for continuing education (after 6-months of employment)
Paid Time Off (after 6-months of employment)
Paid Holidays (after 6-months of employment)
Group and individual supervision (at hire)
Free coffee, tea and snacks at our main studio in North Royalton (at hire-sometimes it’s the little things!)
Opportunities for growth including being able to represent Beyond Words as a presenter at local and national conferences, assisting in designing programs, supervising interns, assisting with marketing, etc.
Once you obtain full-time status, additional benefits include up to 5% company match to a 401K program.
