Contract Adapted Dance Instructor

Schedule, Hours and Location
We are currently hiring for a part-time contract position, starting as soon as January 1, 2025. This position is mostly afternoon and evening hours Monday-Friday, with possible daytime hours if available. If you have experience in program development, we can discuss a full-time, salary position. The current schedule is at the North Royalton studio, but could include travel to program in the community in the summertime around the greater Cleveland/Akron areas.
Responsibilities
As a member of our team, you will be expected to provide individual and group adapted dance programming to children and adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, neurological needs, behavioral needs, etc. You will participate in treatment team meetings, assist with team functions including marketing events, and complete general administrative tasks such as keeping your time sheet and recording student attendance.
The biggest populations served at Beyond Words include children diagnosed with Autism, Down Syndrome - specifically with communication and/or behavioral needs - however, we also service young children in preschools/day schools and adults with developmental disabilities within a group home or day program setting.
Compensation
This subcontracting position compensates for direct service time. Salary options are available after one-year of employment and based on a variety of factors: including experience in our target populations, advanced trainings, and other skills you may possess. This position is NOT for you if...
You constantly have “last minute” things that pop up.
The thought of asking a question to a supervisor makes you nervous.
You are not comfortable with traveling to your appointments.
You are not willing to commit to a minimum of a year of service. We need someone to grow with us that we can help support professionally and who wants to make a strong difference in our clients’ lives.
You are disorganized or believe private practice is a “starter job”.
