Music therapy uses music as the therapeutic stimulus to achieve non-musical treatment goals. Outcomes possible, but not limited to, may include:

  • Increased attention
  • Decreased self-stimulation
  • Improved cognitive functioning
  • Increased socialization
  • Successful and safe self expression
  • Improved behavior
  • Enhanced auditory processing
  • Decreased agitation

The purpose of music therapy is to provide the individual with an initial assist using melodic and rhythmic strategies, followed by fading of musical cues to aid in generalization and transfer to other environments.

An individual assessment is required for any new student who requests music therapy or adaptive music lessons.  The assessment fee includes an intake interview, (2) 45-minute sessions and a written treatment plan. All instruments and other materials are included. Session will be held at your location. One additional adult must be present.

Open enrollment for Summer 2019 begins April 15th.
