Job Title: Community Program Supervisor & Music Therapist

Job Type: Full-time employee

Location: North Royalton, OH (main office location) with services in the greater Cleveland area

Organization Description: Beyond Words is a growing music therapy private practice in Ohio dedicated to providing quality therapy services to children with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and dedicated board-certified music therapist to join our team. Ideal applicants must have at least three years of experience in working with babies/children/teens with autism and other developmental disabilities in both individual and group settings. In addition to direct music therapy services, this supervisory position includes the growth and maintenance of agency contracts. During the day, this applicant will be supervising music therapists throughout the community and direct service will be afternooon/evening hours. Therefore, applicants must be willing to drive to different locations.

Job Requirements:

  • Completing initial assessments and formalized treatment plans
  • Conducting on-going weekly 1:1 sessions
  • Supervising weekly group sessions in agency contracts
  • Completing weekly progress notes and quarterly reports
  • Completing observational reports
  • Maintaining communication with administrators throughout the term of the contract
  • Communicating with family members and other interdisciplinary team members
  • Participating in staff meetings, presenting in-services and attending community events as a representative of Beyond Words
  • Must be dependable and self-motivated

Start Date: January 2019

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Music Therapy or an Equivalency Degree in Music Therapy as well as having received their Board-Certification
  • Strong experience leading/implementing in individual and group sessions with a passion to work with children with special needs, specifically the Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience in supervising music therapists
  • Strong musical skills in voice, guitar, and piano
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable car
  • 40 hour position, available Monday-Friday 8:00-7:00pm – specific hours will vary from week to week

Salary: Salary based on experience & flexibility in schedule

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and dedicated board-certified music therapist to join our team. Ideal applicants must have at least one year of experience in working with babies/children/teens with autism and other developmental disabilities in both 1:1 and group settings. In addition to direct music therapy services, applicants must be comfortable teaching adapted and traditional lessons in guitar, voice, or piano. Individual and group services may be provided in the home, at one of our studio locations, and/or in collaboration with community schools and organizations. Therefore, applicants must be willing to drive to different locations.
